Where is Clovelly Located?

Clovelly is a tiny fishing village which hangs on a 400ft cliff 5 minutes drive from the main road from Bideford to Bude.

In 1738 the Clovelly estate was acquired by the Hamlyn family since then Hamlyn and Clovelly have been synonymous with the ownership of the estate still being in the family.

The preservation of the village is largely due to Christine Hamlyn who dedicated herself to the renovation of the ancient cottages. If you look at some of the structures in the village you can see her initials CH carved in the stone.
