Combe Martin Attractions

To the east of Combe Martin Bay you will find Hangman Hills. The Great Hangman is a hog-backed hill of around 1043ft and is said to be the highest cliff southern Britain, you can reach this by following the South West Coastal Path which runs through the village. When the tide is out to sea it is a great opportunity to buy a crab line and have a go at crabbing in the rock pools. Also when the tide is out you will see all the driftwood wash in. Another great opportunity is to when the tide is out is to have a look for the caves.


Other activities to be experienced is Kayaking in the bay and sea fishing which is also available. Other attractions close to Combe Martin include The Dinosaur and Wildlife Park and also Watermouth Castle both are great days out for the kids.


You will also find a week long carnival including a parade the second week of August. The parade starts at the top of the village for judging and finishes at the sea. Activities include the crowning of the carnival queen, raft race, wheelbarrow race and live music. The carnival concludes at the end of the week with a spectacular firework show.
